Services and fees
Some of the types of notarization include:
Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements are required for legal documents that pertain to valuable properties, such as mortgages and deeds. They validate the documentation of a sale or transfer of property.
Copy Certifications
A copy certification is exactly what the title implies. If a legal document is copied, it must be authenticated by a notary in order to be legally binding.
Jurats
Jurats are one of the more complicated types of notarizations. Jurats are used to confirm the authenticity within a document and require an oath to be taken by the signer of the document in order to be valid.
Signature Witnesses
One of the most common tasks for a notary is to witness the signature of a legal document. In this type of notarization, a notary public confirms the identity of the signers of the document and provides their own validation of the document. Unlike a jurat, no oath is required for signature witnessing.
